Research Roundtable: Connecting Theory with Practice

The Middle Years of Schooling Research SIG of the Australian Association for Research in Education is pleased to present an inaugural research symposium roundtable session at the 2017 Adolescent Success annual conference.
Both novice and experienced researchers are invited to submit proposals to present their research and engage in dialogue with other middle years researchers in attendance.
The day includes a Keynote address by Professor Donna Pendergast, Griffith University (Mega-trends in education and the implications for middle years’ educators and researchers ), two roundtable sessions as well as opportunities to network.
GUIDELINES for PROPOSAL SUBMISSION
To be considered for participation in The Middle Years of Schooling Research Roundtable, submit the following items for review:
Cover Page that includes the following:
* Title of research/paper
* Name, position, organization/institution affiliation, mailing address, phone number, and email address for all researchers with the lead researcher designated.
* Abstract of the research/paper no longer than 300 words that includes a description of the study and the significance of the study to middle years’ education research. The abstract should not contain identifying information for any of the researchers involved in the project.
* Submit the Cover Page and Abstract as two separate email attachments to either:

All submissions will be blind reviewed by officers of The Middle Years of Schooling Research SIG. If selected to participate in the roundtable session, at least one researcher from each project must agree to register and attend the Research Symposium and present the research at the appointed time. Researchers must prepare a one-page research summary to distribute to those attending the session. A full research paper is not required. Registration is through the Adolescent Success Conference Website
(Researcher $80.00 for the day; PhD student $60.00 for the day – this includes morning tea and lunch)
Deadline for proposal submissions: June 15, 2017
Notification of acceptance: before June 30, 2017
