Adolescent Success Middle Years School of Excellence Program (MYSOE) is an endorsement program for middle years education in Australasia. The Adolescent Success MYSOE program is open to any school that educates students aged 10-15 years old in Australasia.

The Adolescent Success Middle Years School of Excellence program aims to:

• Acknowledge and celebrate schools that are committed to implementing the essential attributes and characteristics of successful middle schooling practices. 
• Provide schools with the resources to support their continuous improvement journey.
• Grow a network of schools that can learn from and support each other.

Schools are rewarded for their commitment to the middle years best practices as outlined in the Adolescent Success Position Paper and the Teaching Middle Years; rethinking curriculum, pedagogy and assessment text edited by Donna Pendergast, Katherine Main and Nan Bahr.

Participating schools are guided through a process of self-assessment and visioning which lays the foundation for ongoing growth and success. 

The MYSOE program is a three-year program. The requirements for each year are outlined below.

First year requirements 

1. Completion of the Adolescent Success Middle Years School of Excellence application.
2. Commitment to ongoing middle years specific professional development for Middle Years staff.
3. Up to date institutional Adolescent Success membership.

Second and Third year Requirements

1. Commitment to ongoing middle years specific professional development for Middle Years staff.
2. Up to date institutional Adolescent Success membership.
3. Contribution to Adolescent Success professional learning programs or events e.g. conference, journal, webinar, networks

Cost: $AU3,000 + GST

Cost includes:

• 3 years Institutional Membership, (up to 5 educators nominated)
• Discounted tickets to any Adolescent Success professional learning (choose MYSOE ticket)
• Parent Slide Show for you to use at parent information sessions (value $300)
• Adolescent Development for Educators slide show for you to use with your teachers (value $300)
• 1 x copy of "Teaching Middle Years" sent to your school
• 10 x hard copies of Adolescent Success Position Paper sent to school 
• 3 x 1 hour online coaching/mentoring conversations with an Adolescent Success educational consultant.
• Plaque to display in your school
• Digital badge for your website.

At the end of the 3 years schools are required to reapply for future MYSOE endorsement. They are encouraged to engage with the Adolescent Success Middle Years of Schooling Diagnostic and Improvement Tool prior to reapplication. 

On receipt of this application an invoice for $600 will be issued (the price of 3 years discounted institutional membership). The balance of $2400 is due when your school is accepted as a MYSOE. If you are not accepted your deposit will be funded in full and you will be encouraged to engage with our Diagnostic Tool. If you have already paid your institutional membership this year and are accepted as a MYSOE we will refund your $330 membership.
